“Last night some old friends got together to raise a glass, and a plate of pasta, to #DorisRoberts. Lots of love,” Phil wrote on Twitter captioning the photo. In it, Ray Romano (Ray Barone) and Patricia Heaton (Debra Barone) are joined by another star of the show, Monica Horan Rosenthal (Amy MacDougall), as well as EP Tucker Cawley, Aileen Cawley, producers Tom Caltabiano, Aaron Shure and Mike Royce.
“Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly,” Ray told HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site Deadline, at the time of Doris’ passing. “The last time I saw [Doris], my wife and I took her to see Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett at the Hollywood Bowl,” Phil shared in an interview with THR. “We had a lovely time and we went backstage and we met Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, and Lady Gaga gushed all over.” He also added, “She couldn’t believe she was meeting Doris. She loved Doris. She watched the show and was a fan and that was something, because here’s somebody that you wouldn’t expect to be an Everybody Loves Raymond fan or a Marie Barone fan.”
Additionally, the Everybody Loves Raymond was set to hold a large reunion at this summer’s ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas. However, they announced that they will no longer be attending. “We’re very sorry to announce we won’t be hosting #EverybodyLovesRaymond this year. Many factors made this not the right time. @PhilRosenthal,” the festival tweeted on April 21.
