1. Teen Wolf isn’t the only hit show Tyler has had a role on.
Remember Martin Brewer in the cult favorite show 7th Heaven? Yep, that was Tyler! Tyler played Martin in 2003 and ended up appearing in 62 episodes of the show. His portrayal of Martin even earned him a Teen Choice Award nomination for Breakout Male Star in 2004. Talk about a throwback!
2. Tyler starred in his breakout role alongside Tom Hanks.
Before there was 7th Heaven, there was Tom Hanks! Tyler got his big break as Michael Sullivan, Jr. — aka Tom’s son — in the 2002 film Road to Perdition. But it all came full circle as Tyler’s portrayal of Michael is what led him to getting cast in 7th Heaven.
3. Before Tyler was an actor, he was an athlete.
A self-described “baseball player at heart,” Tyler began playing baseball at the young age of seven. He continued into college and played infield for Arizona State University as well as the Battle Creek Bombers of the Northwoods League. The UC Irvine Anteaters were his team in 2008 where he resumed his infield position. Tyler’s character on 7th Heaven was a baseball fanatic as well — it all makes sense now, right?

4. Tyler considers himself a Christian.
Growing up in a Christian family in Corona, California, Tyler has publicly identified himself as a Christian via a tweet from his official Twitter account. Tyler also has two brothers, Tanner and Travis, and a sister, Carrie.
5. Fifty Shades Darker is only one of the films Tyler has in the works.
Hitting theaters in April 2016, Everybody Wants Some!!, is a sports comedy-drama revolving around college baseball players in the 1980s — do we sense a pattern here? Tyler plays “McReynolds,” and we can only imagine that in the movie we’ll get to see the heartthrob showing off some his own personal baseball skills!
Tyler certainly seems to be a man of many talents! From baseball to acting to — ahem — looking hot on the regular, this is one actor to most definitely watch out for. We can’t wait to see him kill it on the big screen later this year and beyond!
What do you think of Tyler, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited to watch him in Fifty Shades Darker?
