Yoko was rushed Mount Sinai West, formerly Roosevelt Hospital, in New York City on Feb. 26 due to symptoms of a complicated strain of flu, according to her rep. She remains hospitalized in the same hospital where the “Imagine” singer died in 1980 after his fatal shooting at the hands of obsessed fan Mark Chapman.
But Sean was quick to tell fans that his mother was “fine” and she hadn’t had a stroke, as was rumored. She said, “Was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired.” He graciously thanked everyone for their concern, while even cracking a little joke at his mother’s expense. “Only stroke @yokoono had was a Stroke of Genius! :-) She’s really fine. Thanks for all the well wishes! Big Love, Sean,” he concluded.
Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern @yokoono

Sean’s comments were also backed by Yoko’s longtime rep, Elliot Mintz. He revealed that his client was taken to hospital just as a precaution. “To the best of my knowledge, she had symptoms along the lines of a serious flu, and her doctor thought it was best that she would get a check-up at the hospital,” Elliot said. “There is no stroke and there are no life threatening circumstances as has been described to me.” He added, “it’s just an advanced flu.”
Yoko is expected to be released from hospital on Feb. 27, and we wish her a speedy recovery, as well as more bed rest!
