After dating for quite a short time, lovebirds Ciara and Future got engaged on October 27, 2013. Future proposed to his love on her 28th birthday, presenting her with a 125 carat diamond ring as soon as she stepped off an airplane as she arrived home from her NYC birthday bash! How amazing is that?
More exciting news was on the way for the couple. Ciara confirmed that she was pregnant with her first child on a January 2014 episode of The View, showing off a huge baby bump that she managed to keep secret for months! The overjoyed couple welcomed their baby boy, Future Zahir Wilburn, into the world on May 19, 2014! Definitely a unique name!
It’s clear that Future was terribly in love with Ciara at this point; he released a song called “I Won,” in which he proudly called Ciara his “trophy wife.” Despite her fervent and beautiful wedding planning, Ciara called off their wedding in August 2014, just three months after Future Jr.’s birth! Future allegedly cheated on her!
However, they were back together as soon as September, trying to work things out because she felt “strongly about her son needing his father around 24/7,” according to TMZ. That didn’t last long at all. Ciara released a breakup song in March 2015, “I Bet,” which was clearly slamming Future! Ciara began dating current beau, Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson in April 2015, and the war with Future was on!
Future could not stand their relationship, and took every opportunity to slam them left and right: calling Ciara a bitch on Twitter over custody issues, ranting publicly about Russell being around his son, and calling their relationship a “publicity stunt.” The slurs and rants have gone on for so long that Ciara announced she’s suing her ex for defamation, specifically for the “bitch” tweets. What an absolute mess!
