Before 1D starts their extended hiatus in 2016, they may play their last show at the Super Bowl! We’re so excited! And why would the NFL pick One Direction? Well, they’re only one of the biggest bands in the world, of course!
“The NFL is throwing its net wide to have a plethora of acts over just one,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “This is Super Bowl 50 we are talking about! They want the halftime show to have entertainers for every age group. It would not only be just them.”
Omg! One Direction is the perfect addition if the NFL is looking for an act that will appeal to younger audiences, right? And amazingly enough, they just might be in talks to make that happen, according a report from Daily Star!
“NFL bosses want a superstar line-up and One Direction are very much in the mix,” a source told the mag. “They want a pop and rock mash-up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too.”
“NFL bigwigs want a one-off show that will be remembered and garner the greatest audience figures ever,” their source continued. “Obviously the 12-minute half-time show will be worth millions in revenue, sales and downloads too. With the band finishing it would be the ultimate way for the group to say farewell to their fans.”

f the NFL wants big numbers, bringing One Direction into the mix would definitely pull in the viewers — especially from the younger audience. A potential team-up with Bruno and Coldplay would be even cooler. Can you imagine the three acts on stage at the same time? And you know, maybe this would inspire them to take a shorter break — and definitely come back afterward!
