Uh-oh. Kevin Gates will reportedly be charged with battery for kicking a woman fan in the chest during a Florida concert. The rapper says the video of the attack doesn’t tell the whole story and claims he told the woman to stop touching him after she repeatedly groped his privates!

Kevin Gates, 29, should know better that he shouldn’t treat fans like soccer balls. During a concert in Florida, he kicked a female fan after she touched his leg. Now, Kevin’s reportedly being charged with battery, but the “Kno One” rapper said he told the woman to stop touching him after she grabbed his crotch throughout the show! The Lakeland Police Department has filed a criminal complaint against Kevin, reports TMZ, allegedly charging him with a count of simple battery. This comes after sources told TMZ that authorities were reportedly working with the State Attorney’s Office on the case.

During his Aug. 28 concert in Lakeland, Florida, Kevin was on stage when a fan, 18-year old Miranda Dixon, reached out and touched his leg, reports BET. That touch seemed to set Kevin off. He reared his leg back like he’s about to punt a football and blasted the woman in the chest. Ouch! Not cool! However, Kevin has argued that the video didn’t tell the whole story!

The rapper defended his actions by putting it to a beat, reports BET. Kevin released “The Truth,” and in the song, Kevin claims Miranda “grabbed [his] d*ck…2 or three times” and that he “had already warned her.” He did say he “overreacted” and said he was sorry for what he did. Kevin also said that his children go to “every performance,” leading fans to think he didn’t want to expose his children to that kind of behavior.

This track, though catchy, might not hold up in court if he has to deal with a hearing over this latest incident. He also indicates that he knows what he did was wrong, but raps how he won’t stand to be “disrespected.”

Kevin is no stranger to fighting with fans, as he reportedly got into a fight with two women at a March 2015 concert in Michigan. Security had to pull him back from that fight, and there was no one to stop him from going all Abby Wambach on Miranda.

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Will Kevin serve time for this attack, or will his defense that Miranda was groping him get him off the hook?
