It all started when Kylie posted a picture of herself on Instagram in some new stylish cornrows on July 11. Unfortunately the KUWTK star’s newest hairstyle didn’t sit well with Amandla, Jaden’s recent prom date. She lashed out, commenting on Kylie’s Instagram: “When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter.” Ouch! Kylie quickly fired back though, telling Amandla to “go hang” with Jaden. Now The Karate Kid star isn’t sure which way to turn. “Jaden is getting caught in the crossfire between Kylie and Amandla,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “He’s a really silly guy and he thought Kylie and Amandla’s little tiff was hilarious at first. But people are making such a huge deal out of it now and Amandla and Kylie don’t think it’s funny at all.”
Amandla feels very strongly about the subject of black culture and style being appropriated by people who don’t understand its historical and cultural significance. She spoke out in a video titled “Don’t Cash Crop My Cornrows”, ending the video with a provocative question: “What would America be like if we loved black people as much as we loved black culture?”

Jaden and Amandla, who played Rue in The Hunger Games, made headlines on May 29, when they went to the prom together with Jaden sporting a black and white dress with a black blazer and some spunky white gloves! Now his prom date expects him to have her back in her feud with his ex girlfriend! “Amandla wants him to do or say something to support her,” continues the source. “Meanwhile Kylie is blowing up his phone telling him to have Amandla back off. He feels totally stuck in the middle.” Oh Jaden, we don’t envy you at all!
