Michael shared a photo of his injury on Twitter. The left side of his face was completely bandaged. He added this message to fans: “What the f–ks up. sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. thanks for worrying every1 x.” He also posted the picture to Instagram and thanked fans for worrying about him.
At least he’s making light of the terrifying situation. It could have been worse. After the accident, fans flocked to Twitter and “GETWELLSOONMICHAEL” became a top trending topic. He confirmed that he will perform at the band’s June 14 London concert, the last of 5 Seconds of Summer’s European leg of their tour. He politely asked fans not to take his picture at this time, but said his face was “fine.” Whew![jwplatform MHFgZUT6]
Michael’s bandmate Calum Hood, 19, was really worried about his best friend. He tweeted after the show: “No one ever wants to see your best friend in the state I saw mike backstage. He’s a trooper and is ok.” It appears that Calum was also injured during the show. He burned his arm on another pyrotechnics display.
Michael Clifford Catches On Fire At London Concert
The band was in the middle of performing “She Looks So Perfect” when the terrifying accident happened. Michael walked up next to a pyrotechnics display spewing out fire, and then he caught on fire! He ran off stage suddenly to grab a towel and calm the smoke coming from his head.
He went back stage to receive immediate treatment. Soon after, bandmate Ashton Irwin, 20, took to the stage to reveal that the concert was being cut short. Despite the scary situation, Michael is being a fighter and not letting a little fire stand in the way of making his fans happy. What a guy!
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that Michael is performing one day after his accident? Should he take a break? Let us know!
