‘We Are Your Friends’ Trailer
“This is not our future,” Zac’s character says at the start of this trailer for We Are Your Friends.
That future he’s referring to includes SATs, student loans, bailouts and the overall broken dreams which define too many lives. However, for Zac and his friends, there are ways around it.
“You can invent an app, start a blog, sell things online,” Zac says. Or, as he and his friends decide on, you can become a DJ.
“If you’re a DJ, all you need is a laptop, some talent and one track,” Zac says. Cut to the struggling artist and his DJ booth, trying to break in. As he quickly learns, it’s harder than it looks.
The EDM Movement
Zac quickly finds his footing behind the booth though, and he learns what it takes to get the crowd going. “128 beats per minute. That’s the magic number,” he says, referring to the sweet spot.
Fans of the electric dance music genre will immediately recognize the film’s title as an ode to the movement, as it is the name of the hugely famous EDM song titled, of course, “We Are You Friends,” made famous by the DJ Justice.
