‘The Craft’: Zoe Kravitz, Aubrey Plaza & More Who Should Star In Remake

Yes! A remake of the 90's cult classic 'The Craft' is in the works, and I already have my dream cast picked out. Aside from Zoe Kravitz as Rochelle and Aubrey Plaza as Nancy, find out who else should make the cut! Not everyone is thrilled about The Craft remake, but I, on the other hand, can already picture a new generation of teen witches ruining each others lives. There are so many incredible roles in the iconic film to cast, from the four witches themselves to the hunky bewitched Chris and, of course, the mysterious Lirio. Let's get this casting party started!

‘The Craft’ Remake Casting: Zoe Kravitz, Aubrey Plaza & More

If you’ve never seen The Craft you are seriously missing out. The only way I can honestly describe it is by telling you that it’s just like Mean Girls, if Mean Girls had been set in the mid-90’s and the girls were witches. It. Is. So. Good.

The Craft was released in 1996, which means just enough time has passed that a remake is not only appropriate, it was inevitable. Now, the most exciting part of the remake will be the casting — which likely won’t be announced for a while. Until then, we can cross our fingers that writer/director Leigh Janiak does the female-centric film the justice it deserves.

Now, no names have been dropped by any Sony studio executives just yet, but that doesn’t mean I can’t offer my own suggestions!

Aubrey Plaza As Nancy

No one will ever compare to Fairuza Balk‘s intense, slightly crazy, Nancy from the original film, but Aubrey Plaza could definitely do her justice. Nancy is a wild child who loses all sense of morality once she finds the full strength of her witch power, and her power trips are on another level. Seriously, can’t you just see Aubrey as Nancy laying on the floor of Sarah’s bedroom screaming at the top of her lungs as her body parts turn into snakes? Yes, you can!

OTHER POSSIBILITIES: Grace Phipps, Tatiana Maslany, & Jane Levy

Cara Delevingne As Sarah

Sarah Bailey is an interesting character, especially because she starts off as the shy new girl in town and then slowly escalates into one bad (and by bad I mean awesome) witch. While Cara Delevingne is still stretching her legs in the acting pool, there is a fierceness about her that would make her the perfect fit for Sarah. Plus it would be fun to watch her and Aubrey showdown!

OTHER POSSIBILITIES: Margaret Qualley & Elizabeth Olsen

Shelley Hennig As Bonnie

Not only does she have experience playing a witch from her short time on The Secret Circle, but Shelley Hennig would be awesome as Bonnie, who was originally played by Neve Campbell. Bonnie starts off as a wallflower, but she’s anxious to complete the circle so that she, Sarah, and Rochelle can finally harness the power they desire. Unfortunately, once she accesses her power, she becomes a uber mean girl — especially after the scars covering her body are magically removed and she turns into the “hot one.”

OTHER POSSIBILITIES: Anna Kendrick, Zosia Mamet, & Analeigh Tipton

Zoe Kravitz As Rochelle

In The Craft, we quickly learn that Rochelle is the victim of some very awful, very racist bullies in school. It’s sad because she’s a sweet girl, but once her witch powers come into play her bullies pay for their sins. Rochelle may have a dark side, but she isn’t totally evil — and Zoe Kravitz would slay as hexing her haters.

OTHER POSSIBILITIES: Antonia Thomas & Keke Palmer

Last but not least, it would be really awesome to include a cameo from one of the original four girls! Robin Tunney would be the perfect fit for Lirio, the witch craft shop owner who helps Sarah find her way. The original Nancy, Fairuza Balk, could definitely play her mom in the remake, and Neve Campbell would also be great as Bonnie’s mom.
