‘Vanderpump Rules’: Kristen Doute Defends Her Insane Wedding Brawl With James

Kristen does not condone violence, she told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY during the new episode of our podcast on March 9, but she had reasons for shockingly punching James in the face on 'Vanderpump Rules' this season. Listen to the interview here! Kristen Doute has not yet addressed her violent fight with James on the Vanderpump Rules reunion -- the cast didn't talk about Scheana's wedding during the first half of the two-part special -- but she will likely address the epic punches on the March 16 episode. Luckily, there's no need to wait -- Kristen stopped by the HollywoodLife.com office earlier this week to defend her questionable behavior.

Kristen Doute Punches James — ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Defends Her Behavior

“I’m not proud of what happened. [Violence is] not something I condone. I don’t really like defending the behavior, but what I do defend is the fact that it wasn’t at the wedding, or at the reception even. James was clearly intoxicated and I was really just trying to get away from it rather than even deal with it. He wasn’t allowing me to walk away from it because he’s a ‘now, now, now’ kind of person. So [my trainer] Trevor saw I was very tense and asked if I wanted to take a walk and get away from the cameras and just take a breath. So we walked down this long driveway to a giant parking lot and next thing I know I see James and cameras following, and that’s kind of what happened,” Kristen told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

We can certainly understand Kristen’s frustrations. She also told us that there was a lot that we didn’t see on TV.

“Typically, when you’re watching and you see two minutes [on TV], it was probably an hour and a half [in real time]. This wasn’t to that extent, but it was definitely a lot longer than what you saw. There was pushing and James wouldn’t let me walk away and I sat in Trevor’s car for a few minutes. [He was] a little too aggressive for me and that’s what made me snap,” she added.

Obviously, we don’t condone violence either — it’s never the answer. But we’re glad Kristen had the opportunity to set the record straight.
