‘Teen Wolf’ Recap: Scott Discovers Kira’s Shocking Secret

And I do mean 'shocking!' I can't wait to see what Scott and Kira decide to do on their second date. Halloween came early -- or late, depending on how you read your calendar -- on the Jan. 20 episode of Teen Wolf, serving up plenty of tricks (fireflies!) and treats (hot twins!) for the Beacon Hills High gang.

Let’s start with the Alpha Omega twins, who claim they’ve decided to re-enroll in high school in the hopes of joining Scott’s (Tyler Posey) pack for protection — though we all know they did it because they haven’t gotten laid since they left Lydia (Holland Roden) and Danny behind, and despite what you may have seen on Tumblr, they’re not quite ready to go all Flowers in the Attic on each other.

Anyway, the twins returned just in time, because one of those freaky firefly people — this one was a deranged electrical worker named Barrow — chose this as the perfect week to wreak havoc on Beacon Hills. Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia enjoyed several fan bait-y moments this week, as they teamed up to figure out how to stop Mr. Firefly. There was pleasant conversation and romantic music, but just like last week’s deep-woods encounter, there was absolutely no payoff whatsoever.

Isaac Jumps The Gun

Isaac (Daniel Sharman) and Allison (Crystal Reed) also paired off to do a little ‘research,’ but things progressed much more quickly for them. Though they settled on a bizarre Pretty Woman-style ‘no kissing’ rule, they still ripped off their clothes and prepared to bone — that is, until Papa Argent busted in to remind Isaac where he keeps his guns.

(Side note: Am I the only one surprised at how un-sexy Isaac’s little striptease was? I guess I’ve always preferred his awkward, goofy charm; seeing him take charge was just a little much for me. But then again, everything’s a little much for me.)

Scott & Kira: Sparks Fly

Speaking of characters destined to bone, Kira’s (Arden Cho) invited Scott over for dinner, and while Scott’s first foray into the world of sushi was a complete disaster, it was far from the worst part of their first date — no, that would be when Barrow swooped in and kidnapped Kira. It turns out she’s who he was after all along

That’s when Scott discovered Kira is more than capable of defending herself, as she absorbed all of the electricity Barrow threw her way! (I can’t wait to see what Scott and Kira do on their second date.)

Derek & Peter: Nailed It

Elsewhere, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) and Peter (Ian Bohen) spent their afternoon doing weird stuff with toenails — more specifically, Derek’s dead mother’s toenails — in an attempt to learn more about their own destinies.

Personally, I miss Derek and Peter’s less-complicated days of shirtless grunting against a chain link fence. Ah, simpler times…

HollywoodLifers, what’s your take on this week’s Teen Wolf? Were you surprised by Kira’s big reveal? Did you love Isaac and Allison’s almost-hookup? Drop a comment with your review of the episode below!
