Robin Quivers’ Fight With Cancer

Robin, who has been part of The Howard Stern Show since 1981, opened up on the show revealing that the reason she had been absent recently was because of her battle with cancer, that began in the endometrial tissue, a tissue in the uterus.

The news shocked listeners, and those who follow the official twitter account of the show — it was posting updates and quotes throughout.

“I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner,” they tweeted as a direct quote from Howard, also adding in that he said he still gets chills listening to Robin’s story.

“Benjy tried to visit me but I avoided him like the plague,” they tweeted as a quote from Robin about Benjy Bronk, staff joke writer at the show. They also tweeted that she did not try medical marijuana.

She ended the conversation on a lighter note, adding that she was just told by doctors that she was now cancer free!

Robin Underwent A Procedure In 2012

A little over a year ago in May 2012, Robin admitted on the show that she would be having a procedure to remove a tumor. It was then that Howard admitted how much he counted on Robin.

“Doing a show without Robin is like cutting off my left arm. Or my right arm. Or maybe both,” he said on May 23. “She was my backbone, you understand. Where I would lose courage, Robin always had the courage. She always is the brave one. Always the brave one with me. I could go to her, and I could always rely on her.”

We’re so happy to hear that Robin’s OK!
