Lil Wayne Raps About Seizures
In multiple songs, Weezy conjures up the image of seizing but always lightheartedly. On his guest verse on Wiz Khalifa’s “Work Hard, Play Hard,” Lil Wayne vulgarly describes his lovemaking skills, saying, “I swallow that pearl, tongue like I’m having a seizure.” The juxtaposition of his seizure lyric with the title of the song is terribly ironic — working hard and playing hard is reportedly what put Wayne in the hospital.
In “Time To F**k” by Lil Wayne, he again uses seizing symbolically to describe sex, rapping, “I’ll give that girl a seizure.”
And finally, on his song “F**ck You,” Wayne describes how being so rich makes him feel: “My dough sick, on occasions I catch seizures.”
A human seizure is such a visceral, visual thing, so that’s probably why Lil Wayne was drawn to using it to make comparisons. But his lyrics do minimize the seriousness of the condition, which he now knows as well as anyone. After nearly losing his life on Mar. 15, it might be time to retire the metaphor.
Lil Wayne’s Seizures: Caused By A Toxic Concoction?
Lil Wayne’s alleged near-fatal seizures were reportedly a result of a dangerous concoction he imbibed. A source claimed to Media Takeout that before being rushed to the hospital, Weezy drank a mixture of pain-killing drugs like codeine, prescription medications, and potent chemicals like anti-freeze.
The mixture allegedly should have killed him, if it hadn’t been for quick-thinking doctors pumping his stomach multiple times to rid the fluids from his system.
Lil Wayne’s traumatic past few days may signal the coming of a changed man. Or at least that’s what we’re hoping — that we’ll never have to hear “Lil Wayne” and “seizure” in the same sentence again.
