'Pretty Little Liars' Mystery: Did Melissa Lose Her Baby — Again?

A new still from the show's June 26 episode reveals Melissa with a flat stomach — and no baby in sight. When we last saw Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) on the second season of Pretty Little Liars, she was still sporting a massive baby bump — but when we next encounter her on the show's June 19 episode, we're going to see a noticeably different frame. I suspected Melissa may have suffered a miscarriage during the third season premiere, when Spencer (Troian Bellisario) told their mom not to worry about her, but it seems we have our first piece of concrete evidence.

If my suspicions are correct, this will have been the second time in the show’s history that Spencer’s older sister has lost a baby. Melissa revealed in season one that she and Ian (Ryan Merriman) went to Hilton Head for a secret abortion, only they didn’t have to go through with it because she already had a miscarriage. In fact, she said that miscarriage is what made her current pregnancy all the more special!

(Double sad.)

Or hey, maybe Melissa had the baby and Spencer’s discussion with her mom was about something else entirely. But if that’s true, what other problem could she now be facing?
