Like megastar Jennifer Hudson, Catelynn turned to Weight Watchers to drop the weight safely. “Weight Watchers devotees are allowed to eat their favorite foods in moderation using a points system, which basically equates to counting calories,” Alicia Hunter, weight expert and author of The Accidental Diet: From Fugly to Fox EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com.
“I would recommend that Catelynn eats several 100-200 calorie mini-meals per day that combine proteins and carbohydrates, such as half an apple with natural peanut butter or wheat crackers and a light cheese stick,” explains Alicia. “Another great summertime mini-meal to try is sliced turkey, roasted red peppers, olives, a thin slice of sharp cheese and cucumbers and shredded carrots drizzled with balsamic vinegar.”
Even though Weight Watchers encourages a slower weight loss than so-called fad diets, Alicia says that gradual weight loss leads to better results. “Those good life-long eating habits will have longer time to take hold and the lost weight will stay off!” she reveals.
Despite Cateylnn’s busy schedule — she’s taking classes, planning a wedding and filming the final season of Teen Mom (sad!), the reality star needs to make sure to squeeze in some workouts. “I would suggest that Catelynn do cardio (like a Stairmaster or circuit jogging) and light weights or toning exercises,” says Alicia. “She has a naturally-petite frame and she needs to be careful not to do too much with heavier weights, which could cause her to add bulk rather than slim down!”
