As I tweeted during the episode, Liam has more emotions in him than a Taylor Swift album, and I truly believe Annie (Shenae Grimes) is the only girl capable of figuring them out. (Lannie 4ever!) Sensing Liam needed a mom-sized hug, Annie invited his estranged mother over for dinner, and she brought a hot dish of drama — though candied yams might have been a better choice.
Meanwhile, Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) found herself entrenched in drama of a sexier nature when Austin (Justin Deeley) returned from Vegas and told her he was “too tired” to have a little naked party. Desperate to figure out what was suddenly keeping perma-horny Austin from hitting the sheets, Naomi joined him for a horseback ride through Griffith Park — where she proceeded to lose her horse, attempt to get high, and accidentally start a forest fire.
Fortunately, Naomi’s shenanigans were not in vain. One of the last scenes of the episode — and my personal favorite — found Naomi and Austin more stripped-down than we’ve ever seen them. And believe it or not, they did it fully clothed! Austin revealed he’s got trust issues stemming from his parents’ divorce, to which Naomi responded with an “I’ll never leave you” speech that reminded us she’s actually a human being. With emotions. In case you can’t tell, I’m a big fan of Austin and I hope he sticks around forever and ever.
It was a slightly less happy ending for Ivy (Gillian Zinser) and Raj (Manish Dayal), who finally addressed the elephant in their relationship: Did she only marry him because he was dying? As far as I’m concerned, the answer is clearly “yes.” Ivy may have had genuine feelings for Raj, but it’s impossible to deny that his cancer was what pushed her from girlfriend to wife in just a few short weeks.
Raj told Ivy he didn’t want to be married to her anymore, leaving her in tears. The really sad part? She has no idea his second round of tests revealed he still has cancer!
Blissfully unaware of everything going on in her friends’ lives, Silver (Jessica Stroup) snagged herself a man this week! But based on Silver’s previous history of man choices — one turned out gay, one dumped her for his shady uncle, and another disappeared to Montana without warning — I’d say this new relationship should last all of two weeks. Oh well, at least he’s cute.
And speaking of Silver’s exes, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) came clean — pun intended — to his friends about his addiction to prescription pills, thanks to a push from Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes.)I’m not going to lie, it’s a little scary that Adrianna has become the voice of reason in the group, but as long as she’s being a positive influence on Dixon, I’m all for her turning over a new leaf.
Still, I’ll never stop dreaming of crazy Adrianna’s return.
