“Also not nominated was I Love You Philip Morris, Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. Two heterosexual characters pretending to be gay. So the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists, then. Probably. My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke,” said Ricky in his controversial opening monologue at the Globes. Audience members and viewers at home gasped and/or laughed at the joke most likely aimed at John Travolta and Tom.
But an eyewitness at the CAA after party tell us “People were talking about Ricky’s Scientology joke but it was never talked about near Tom at all. People went out of their way to make sure he didn’t hear them discussing it.”
Awkward.
And while some reports claim Tom and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman purposefully avoided each other, our source says they were just focused on mingling with other people and stayed in their areas of the room, but it didn’t seem intentional. It might seem peculiar that Tom wasn’t congratulating Nicole on her new baby Faith, but then again he probably didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag. And surely he knew about Faith already, since it is his children Connor and Isabella’s newest baby sister. What do you guys think?
