Now that the holiday season is officially upon us, ice skating is a popular date — not only is it something fun you can do during the day, but it’s also relatively inexpensive. Considering you’ll be wearing skates, before you get on the ice I recommend wearing a warm pair of flat boots. Remember, as cute as a skating date sounds, you’re still doing something physical so you want to wear something that you can easily move in — your skin tight skinny jeans wouldn’t be ideal. You also want to layer and bundle up — I’m not saying you have to bulk up in a ski suit, but you don’t want to be freezing. I know you want to look cute, but be sure to dress appropriate!
As adorable as your little jacket may be, I suggest wearing something warmer like a cute coat that isn’t too long — you want to be able to move comfortably. You could even layer a faux fur vest over a jacket, as long as it’s wool and not denim! Layering up is key — a cardigan or sweater over a thermal is ideal for underneath your coat. Covering your head is the key to stay warm, so put your hair in a side braid or wear it down, but I wouldn’t break out the rollers! While there’s a slew of adorable winter hats to choose from, earmuffs are also a great alternative — they’re both cute and extremely practical (and if you want to leave your hair down it works well!). Comfortable stretchy jeans, jeggings, or a warm pair of leggings will keep your warm while you’ll still be able to move around. Check out my picks below and have fun — not only will you be warm while you skate, but you’ll look just as cute sipping on cocoa when you’re indoors.
