Colin borrows something unexpected from his co-star Kate Hudson and his new role as her love interest — dating advice!
Getting over a breakup is never easy. And unfortunately for sexy Something Borrowed star Colin Egglesfield, 37, that’s exactly what he’s going through right now! “My relationship just ended,” Colin told HollywoodLife.com exclusively June 9 at Elle‘s 2010 Women in Music issue event at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. But thanks to playing his new role as “Dex,” the fiancé of Kate Hudson in Something Borrowed, Colin’s dating life has a bright future: he’s learning what it means to truly be in love.
“You’ve got to follow your heart absolutely,” Colin said. “I play a guy who is engaged to Kate Hudson’s character and I’m in love with her best friend. The movie sets up this love triangle where my character has to decide between doing what is expected or choose the love of his life knowing that he’s going to upset a lot of people.”
“It’s a difficult decision to make,” Colin explained. “I think [doing this movie has] given me a better perspective on my relationships with women. … The two women that I’m trying to decide between [in the movie] … I’ve been in the same situation where girls in my life are the life of the party — they’re beautiful and exciting.”
“But, there have also been girls that have been genuine and down to earth, who you can see yourself building your life with,” Colin added. “I have yet to get to a place in my life where I’m ready to make that decision.”
Even though Colin isn’t ready to settle down just yet, he did tell us exactly what he wants in a woman: “Someone who is considerate, genuine, someone who’s a good listener. But, they also have to have a little bit of sassy-ness. It keeps me on my toes and keeps me interested!”
It’s sounds like Colin is on the road to recovery from his heartbreak. And we can’t wait to see him and Kate in Something Borrowed, which comes out next year.
