Police believe they may have found the location of Stacy Petersonās body in Peoria, Illinois.
The Will County Police Department may have made a huge break in their ongoing case against alleged murderer Drew Peterson with the potential discovery of the body of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson. Drew, who is currently behind bars awaiting trial for the murder of his third wife Kathleen Savio, told a fellow inmate about how he killed and disposed of Stacyās body. TMZ reports, āPeterson told the inmate he had an accomplice help him dispose of the body. The inmate then told authorities about his discussion with Peterson, which led them to the alleged accomplice. Weāre told the accomplice informed Will County Sheriffās officials and prosecutors that the body was buried just outside Peoria, Illinois.ā
Kathleenās lifeless body was discovered in a waterless bathtub on March 1, 2004, and her death ruled an accidental drowning. Following the disappearance of Stacy in October of 2007, Kathleenās body was exhumed and her death determined to be not an accidental drowning but rather a homicide staged to look like an accident. Stacy, who provided Drewās alibi for the evening of Kathleenās death, had told her pastor that Drew had killed Kathleen and she was afraid of him.
Drew was indicted on murder charges for the death of Kathleen on May 7, 2009 with bail set at $20 million. Due to a lack of evidence and the location of a body however, he was never formally charged with the murder of fourth wife Stacy.
