2020 is ending on a high note for some royal fans! In the inaugural episode of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s new podcast with Spotify, the couple’s one-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, appeared for a special surprise to listeners. At the 32-minuted mark of the 2020 Archewell Audio Holiday Special, little Archie’s voice comes through loud and clear!
“You can speak into it,” Prince Harry, 36, tenderly says to the toddler, presumably gesturing toward the microphone. “Archie, is it fun?” Meghan, 39, sweetly asks her baby boy. Archie can just be heard mimicking his mom, saying “fun” back to her. Then, Prince Harry gives the couple’s fans a very special treat! “After me. Ready?” The doting parents then tell Archie to repeat each word they say, and Archie’s little voice pipes up to say “Happy New Year!”
Like any parents, Prince Harry and Meghan were absolutely elated! Harry could be heard laughing with so much glee and pride, and there was even a hint of a high-five in the audio. But the episode was about far more than just Archie’s cameo. The couple’s roughly 33-minute episode featured the voices of James Corden, Stacey Abrams, Naomi Osaka and more as they reflected on the year 2020.
Naturally, though, fans were surely pleased to hear sweet Archie’s little voice, and finally learn wether or not he has an American accent! So far, it seems that he takes after his mom in that department. Archie did, however, get his dad’s genes in one major way. In the family’s 2020 Christmas card, admirers could just make out that Archie had inherited his dad’s red hair. The little one looked almost like his Prince Harry’s mini-me!
