Tyga didn’t appear to be at all concerned that there was a global pandemic still ongoing when he took to his Instagram account on November 18 and shared a clip of himself at a party. The IG clip, posted one day before the rapper’s 31st birthday, featured Tyga surrounded by women dancing at a club in Miami. Tyga threw money in the air, which rained down on party-goers, who appeared to be crammed indoors.
Throughout the video, not one mask could hardly be seen, save for one worn by a young person in the foreground of the clip. But everyone appeared to be partying as if there was no risk, whatsoever. “Starting the bday week,” Tyga captioned the clip, adding a few emojis after his words, including one that featured a mask.
Some fans were none too pleased by Tyga’s actions and took to the comment section to let him know. “Covid aint a thing for you huh,” one Instagram user wrote. “Does anyone realise [we’re] still in the middle of a deadly pandemic,” another chimed in. One person also wrote, “I hope they were screened for COVID-19.”
Tyga’s post on Instagram comes as America’s nationwide coronavirus count continues to grow. Over 11 million people have tested positive for the highly-contagious virus, while more than 247,000 people have tragically lost their lives, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In Florida alone, where Tyga is currently partying, the state has recorded over 43,000 positive cases in the last seven days, with a total of over 884,000.
The rapper, who is famous in his own right for tracks like “Taste” and “Dip,” is also known for his high-profile relationship with ex Kylie Jenner. The two started dating in August 2015 and had an on-again, off-again relationship for roughly two years before officially splitting in April 2017. Kylie moved on with Travis Scott, with whom she shares daughter Stormi Webster.
After Kylie and Travis split in late September 2019, rumors swirled that she and Tyga had reunited at a studio where he was recording. But the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shut down those rumors with one tweet. “The internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is. There was no ‘2am date with Tyga’. You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at,” she tweeted on October 3, 2019.
