Say goodbye to Rachel Berry, and hello to Gertie! Lea Michele is making her debut on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ on Oct. 14, and trust us — you won’t want to miss this!
Lea Michele has traded in that microphone… for a cigarette, and she’s extremely good at it! The actress, 28, starred in her first TV role other than Glee, and the producers and stars of Sons of Anarchy, raved to HollywoodLife.com about how impressed they were with her!
Lea Michele On ‘Sons Of Anarchy’
“I don’t watch a lot of television either but she’s a flat out star,” Kim Coates, who plays Tig, told us exclusively! “And she’s just such a cutie and I hear she did an amazing job. Like a really amazing job.”
In episode three, Lea portrays Gertie, a truck-stop diner waitress who Gemma (Katey Sagal) leans on during a not-so-pleasant time. The two share a cigarette together, and actually bond over their similarities.
We’ve got to say, we’d love to see her back — and we’re not the only ones.
‘SOA’ Exec: Everything Rachel Berry Is, ‘This Woman Isn’t’
“She brought something totally different from Rachel. I am so excited! I remember seeing her in Spring Awakening when she was just a Broadway actress, and I knew there was a lot deeper actor there then what we have been able to use before or what we have seen on Glee,” Sons of Anarchy executive producer, Paris Barclay told us exclusively. He also worked with Lea when he directed multiple Glee episodes!
“She has a completely different part then Rachel, everything Rachel is, this women isn’t,” Paris said. “I mean she is a down home regular woman who is kind of grumpy and she doesn’t care about her appearance. She smokes! I mean, Rachel smoking, I don’t think Rachel smoking would ever happen.”
Paris couldn’t rave enough about the actress, who has been on TV since Glee began in May 2009. He explained that she “killed” the role and it was actually one of the shortest days on set, since she was “so prepared!”
