On the heels of Kim Kardashian‘s pregnancy annoucement, Kourtney Kardashian is spilling the diet secrets that allowed her to shed all of the weight she gained while pregnant with daughter Penelope Scotland Disick. You’ll never believe what’s on her diet — cookies! Keep reading to see how she lost so much weight so fast!
Kourtney admitted to Us Weekly that after she gave birth to her son Mason in 2009, she went on an unhealthy crash diet.
“I was comparing myself to other people and putting all this pressure on myself. I was working out and I wasn’t eating enough. I definitely pushed myself too hard.”
After she had her daughter Penelope on July 8, 2012, Kourtney knew she had to lose the weight the healthy way.
Kourtney follows pro trainer Tracy Anderson‘s 90-minute dance-focused workout. In just 6 months, she lost the 45 pounds of weight she gained during her second pregnancy and is down to just 106 pounds! Here are some of her secrets:
How She Lost The Weight
Walking — “I did tons of walking with this massive stroller I have called the Bugaboo Donkey. It holds two kids, so I would put them both in and go for an hourlong walk. A lot of it would be uphill, so it would be pretty major.”
Training With Tracy — “We’ve been doing it for about a month and it has totally changed the shape of my body. The trainer comes over at 7 in the morning when my kids are still asleep so I don’t have any mom guilt.”
Using Kim As A Workout Buddy — “There are times when I’d say, ‘I’ll walke up at 9 when everyone else is getting up.’ But she’d be like, ‘We’re working out.’ If one of us isn’t in the mood, we push each other. I think we motivate each other to eat well too.”
Her Diet Tips & Tricks
Having An Occasional Splurge — “Yesterday my cousin sent us there buttery Armenian cookies called simit and Kim and I finished the entire bag! You can’t be trapped by some kind of strict diet plan. You need to live.”
Everything In Moderation — “I don’t count calories. I just try not to overeat and I keep portions down. My breakfast every day is a protein shake with a banana, an apple, nonfat yogurt, milk, almonds, cinnamon and ice with a scoop of vanilla QuickTrim. For lunch I’ll have a piece of fish or a salad with avocado. And then for dinner I’ll make fresh soup in my blender, like butternut squash or tomato and zucchini.”
Tricks Of The Trade — “I cut up celery and put it in bags to take with a little bit of hummus.” She also drinks lots of green tea.
Cutting Out Alcohol — “I don’t drink because I’m breast-feeding. Besides, drinking doesn’t fit into my lifestyles of walking up super early and working out.”
Motivation From Her Man — [Scott Disick likes my curves] he does. He likes me anyway. But I think his favorite is when I’m skinnier.”
