Celebs Who Used Surrogates To Have Babies

Many celebrities have decided to go the surrogacy route for their pregnancies. Stars have had an array of reasons for using surrogates, from health concerns to fertility issues and more.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went the surrogacy route twice – once for their daughter Chicago, and again for baby boy Psalm. So why has the reality star chosen to go the surrogacy route after carrying North and Saint herself? It was no longer safe for her to deliver her kids because Kim has the condition placenta accrete. This makes the placenta hard to detach from the uterine wall and remove during birth.

“My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails,” she said of the experience. “How disgusting and painful.”
