Ty Simpkins has grown up in the Insidious film franchise over the last ten years. The 21-year-old star played Dalton Lambert in the first two Insidious movies and he’s reprising his role in the new sequel Insidious: The Red Door. The film is all about Dalton who goes off to college but is faced with nightmares of his past. Get ready to be very scared.

Dalton is the son of Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) and Renai Lambert (Rose Byrne). The family is introduced in the first Insidious film, where Dalton goes into a coma and becomes a vessel for demons. In the second film, Dalton and his parents try to uncover the reason why they’re connected to the spirit world. Ty, Patrick, and Rose will reprise their roles in the new sequel, alongside Andrew Astor and Lin Shayne.
Other than Insidious, Ty may be best known for playing Gray Mitchell in 2015’s Jurassic World. Gray is the 11-year-old nephew of Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard). Ty was nominated for a Young Artist Award for his performance in the film.
Ty has a small role in Iron Man 3, as a young boy who helps Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) repair his suit. He returns in Avengers: Endgame for Tony’s funeral. Ty revealed in an interview that he kept Tony’s death a secret for two years.
Ty’s older sibling is fellow actor Ryan Simpkins, 25. Ryan is non-binary and uses they/she pronouns. Ryan is best known for appearing in the Fear Street movies.
Ty was born in New York City, but when college came around he moved across the country. He attended San Diego State University and was in a fraternity.
