The Voice coaches know they’ve found something special in Cait Martin. The 32-year-old makes a statement with her Blind Audition, which will air during the March 20 episode. She gets that coveted 4-chair turn, and the coaches all want Cait on their team.
So, who is Cait Martin? Her voice is going to take her places, that’s for sure. HollywoodLife has rounded up everything you need to know about Cait.
Cait performs a gorgeous and unique rendition of Harry Styles’ song “As It Was” for her season 23 Blind Audition. Kelly Clarkson is the first to turn her red chair, followed by Niall Horan, Chance the Rapper, and Blake Shelton. “That beautiful vibrato is so crystal clear. And then I knew you were going to go big and powerful, but I didn’t know how big your range was. That was high, and you did it so effortlessly,” Kelly tells Cait. “I feel like I would be such a great coach for you. I literally believed in you, like, lightyears before these guys turned around. I don’t know why it took them so long.”
Niall adds, “I was blown away. The minute I heard the riff on the piano, I knew you were obviously going to do something different to the song. I can tell that you like storyteller-type music, and I feel like that’s what I do for a living, it’s tell stories about my personal life.”
Cait is currently based in Atlanta, but she was born in New Orleans. When she joined the cast of “A Night with Janis Joplin” in New Orleans, Cait wrote on Instagram, “I was born here, but have never had the opportunity to perform here and I am thrilled! There’s so many big things happening in my life and I can’t to share them with you!”
In addition to her stage performances, Cait was a cruise ship entertainer for Norwegian Cruise Lines in 2017. She’s done voiceover work for Tech World and Alexandria’s World.
Cait is under the handle @caitmartinsings on both Instagram and TikTok. She has been hyping up her Voice audition and has shared glimpses of her amazing vocals on TikTok.
In September 2022, Cait penned a touching post about the loss of her sister, Jaimie, who died in 2019. “It was impossible to believe that on this day I would ever feel anything more than emptiness, but each year I’ve been given more and more purpose and I’d like to believe that it’s because you’re living inside of me, pushing me forward,” Cait wrote on Instagram. “You’re with me in everything I do. I hear your voice in every choice I make. Every win. Every loss and TODAY of all days, when I need you most, I don’t feel without you. I close my eyes and I feel you.”
