Famous Celebrity Co-Star Feuds: Lucy Lawless Vs. Kevin Sorbo & More Cast Mates Who Did Not Get Along

They through their personal feelings, but these co-stars were NOT fond of one another when the cameras were off! Take a look at some co-stars who didn’t get along

Not every working relationship is going to end in lifelong friendship — that was especially true for these co-stars! When it comes to casts getting along, not every single one can be a big happy family. In fact, there have been plenty of famous co-stars who just could not get along. Let’s breakdown some of the biggest co-star feuds thus far.

Lucy Lawless & Kevin Sorbo

Actors Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo starred on the series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys in the mid-90s. Although Lucy appeared in only 11 episodes of the original show, she eventually got her own spin-off, Xena: Warrior Princess, which ran from 1995-2000. In total, the co-stars had to appear in 13 episodes together — eleven in Hercules and two in Xena. But even that was enough to push the pair apart.

The two haven’t exactly been friendly since, and on January 7, Lucy put Kevin in his place. The two took to Twitter following the horrific riots that took place on Capitol Hill on January 6. In his initial tweets, Kevin, who’s peddled misinformation and conspiracy theories on social media, made unfounded accusations that the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol were “leftist agitators” in disguise, even saying “they don’t look like patriots to me.” Leave it to the woman who originated the role of Xena: Warrior Princess to put Kevin in his place.

“No, Peanut. They are not Patriots,” Lucy began her scathing retort. “They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors,” she continued. “They are the d—–bags that go out and do the evil bidding of people like you who like to wind them up like toys and let them do their worst.” She added the hashtags “keep your filthy hands clean” and “enabler” to her words.

The Cast Of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Has the cast of Grey’s Anatomy every completely gotten along? Perhaps circumstances have smoothed over as the series, which debuted in 2005, has gone on to a 17-season run. But there were some major, notable feuds between these cast members, so much so that they deserve their own spot on this list!

Katherine Heigl memorably had issues with both cast and crew members. She dropped out of the 2008 Emmy race because she felt “the material” that was written for her that season didn’t “warrant” an Emmy nomination, even though she won for 2007 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Izzie Stevens! Katherine also had some tifs with former co-star Isaiah Washington, and he even reignited their feud on Twitter in 2020!

Then, there was Ellen Pompeo‘s riff with her co-star Patrick Dempsey. The actor seemingly wasn’t cooperative about working through negotiations so that Ellen could be given a raise. Ellen eventually, however, was able to secure her paycheck. But the longtime star of the show even highlighted how fraught working relationships were on set. “Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks started things spinning out of control,” she said in a 2013 interview. “The crazier things got, as I watched all the tumult with Isaiah [Washington] and then the Katie [Katherine Heigl] thing, I started to focus on the work. Maybe it is my Boston, blue-collar upbringing. I just tried to not pay attention to all the noise around me.”

Will Smith & Janet Hubert

The bad blood between Janet Hubert and Will Smith has been known for decades, ever since Janet was replaced as Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The two notoriously did not get along, and in 2020 everything finally came to a head. The feud started, though, in 1993, when Will appeared on an Atlanta radio show to offer this perspective on their feud:

“I can say straight up that Janet Hubert wanted the show to be The Aunt Viv of Bel Air Show because I know she is going to dog me in the press,” he said. “She has basically gone from a quarter of a million dollars a year to nothing. She’s mad now but she’s been mad all along. She said once, ‘I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the Antichrist.”

Janet, however, alleged that Will had practically “destroyed a 20-year-career with untruths.” Decades later, the two finally sat down for an HBO Max reunion special in November 2020, where Will apologized to Janet for his behavior and how he treated her during a difficult time in her life.

“When I left the show, I had this new baby and no one. Family disowned me, Hollywood disowned me, my family said you’ve ruined our name and I wasn’t unprofessional on the set. I just stopped talking to everybody because I didn’t know who to trust, I had been banished. They said it was you who banished me. Because you were Will, you were a kid. It was hard.”

Sarah Jessica Parker & Kim Cattrall

Although they played BFFs on HBO’s beloved series Sex & The CityKim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker have been anything but. It’s unclear exactly how their long-running feud began, but it definitely came to a head in 2018 when SJP extended her condolences to Kim following her brother’s death.

“I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time [Sarah Jessica Parker],” Kim wrote in an Instagram note. “My Mom asked me today, ‘When will that [Sarah Jessica Parker], that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

Yikes! SJP has continued to play down the clear rift between the two. Sadly for fans, it also means that plans for a third SATC film were scrapped a few years ago. Now, however, it seems that a revival might be coming to HBO Max! The only catch — Kim Cattrall is reportedly not involved.

Ashley Tisdale & Lucas Grabeel

You remember how the song goes — “It’s hard to believe that we couldn’t see, that these two feuded, apparently?!” It’s true! Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel, who played twins Sharpay and Ryan Evans in the High School Musical films, did not get along. Despite their fun chemistry on the big and small screen, Ashley spilled the details during a May 2017 get together.

“We were not close,” Ashley admitted. “We were not good friends—let’s be honest. It’s been 10 years, so we can talk about it.” she laughingly admitted. “We hated each other. Like, I’m not kidding.” Lucas couldn’t help but confess that it was true. “We didn’t get off on the best foot,” he said. Fortunately, it looks like as the two have matured their working relationship has blossomed into friendship!
