Arie Luyendyk Jr., 39, and his wife Lauren, 29, are ending 2020 on a high. On Dec. 19, the former Bachelor stars revealed on Instagram that they’re going to become parents for the second time. The joyful news is especially bittersweet, coming roughly seven months after they revealed that they privately suffered a miscarriage.

Arie, who recently recovered from a bout of COVID-19, posted a couple of sweet photos of their growing family on Instagram as he shared the news with his nearly 700,000 followers. The pictures, which you can see HERE, include one of their 18-month-old daughter Alessi holding a sign saying, “Big Sister July 2021.” In another photo the little girl snuggles with Lauren as dad, Arie, proudly holds the sign. “And then 2020 completely redeemed itself!” he captioned the post.

Over on Lauren’s page she shared a video of the three of them in the desert. In the clip, while she cradles her growing bump, Alessi rocks a “big sister” T-shirt.

“It’s hard to know what to say right now,” she captioned the Instagram post. “I’ve been crying on and off for the past 3 months…right now is no different. So grateful.” They also shared the news of their “rainbow baby” on their YouTube channel.

The joyful news comes nearly seven months after they broke their miscarriage heartbreak to their YouTube followers on May 30. “We were planning to share our journey through pregnancy with you, but unfortunately we didn’t get the happy story we had hoped for,” the couple said in the description of the 27-minute-long video.

Thankfully, the news is much better this time around. Some of the couple’s famous fans and friends took to their Instagram pages to congratulate them. “No way. Awee [sic] congrats,” Audrey Roloff of Big People, Little World fame wrote in the comment section of Lauren’s post, adding a crying and heart emoji. The Bachelor host Chris Harrison commented on Arie’s Instagram post, writing simply, “Congratulations and God bless.”

Arie and Lauren married in 2019 after meeting on The Bachelor two years earlier. Their second baby is due in July 2021.
