After the biggest vote in AGT HISTORY, a winner has been chosen and we’re just moments away from finding out who it is! We’ve witnessed countless auditions, millions of tears, death-defying acts, huge shockers and many amazing outfits, courtesy of Tyra Banks, Mel B and Heidi Klum. Tonight, it all comes full circle as the Season 12 winner of America’s Got Talent is announced! Who do you think it will be? Click here for pictures from the AGT finale!
Before announcing the winners, the top 10 finalists got to have a little fun singing and performing together! Kechi and Angelica Hale belted out Kelly Clarkson’s “What Doesn’t Kill You” and Kelly joined them on stage. OMG, we need this trio to HAPPEN. Then, Kelly sang her newest jam “Love So Soft,” and proved that she was def the right decision over Justin all those years ago on American Idol. I trust America’s judgment when it comes to voting for singers.
Next, it was Diavolo’s turn to show off their tricks and perform on more time to Harry Styles‘ “Sign Of The Times” in an out of this world experience — literally planets were involved. Then, Light Balance took over with their insane moves and when they were done, Derek Hough revealed himself under one of the light-up suits! There’s nothing Derek can’t do!
Deaf Oscar winner Marlee Matlin introduced Mandy Harvey and Shania Twain to sing Shania’s hit “You’re Still The One.” Shania then sang her new song “Life’s About To Get Good!” What did you think about the performance? Then, Darci Lynn was able to get some advice from her mentor Jeff Dunham before taking the stage with Petunia and the second season AGT winner, ventriloquist Terry Fator. Singing “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better,” Terry and Darci slayed and we don’t know how they do it.
Howie Mandel treated Preacher Lawson to a night out at the famous Laugh Factory in LA. Joined by Kevin Nealon, Preacher and Howie shared their jokes and the secrets to being successful in comedy. Then, Evie Clair and James Arthur took the stage and sang one of Evie’s original songs. Then James was joined by Chase Goehring and the two sang his recent top-charting single “Say You Won’t Let Go.”
It was then time for the first goodbyes of the night, but in no particular order, we find out who made it into the top five! Mandy Harvey, Sara & Hero, Light Balance, Darci Lynn, and Angelica Hale were AGT Season 12’s top five! Sadly, it was the end of the road for Chase Goehring, Evie Clair, Diavolo, Preacher Lawson, and Kechi. The best part about the whole thing, though, was when Preacher was called up against Darci, he started laughing because he has always thought Darci would win the competition — the description for his next stand-up performance on his website literally reads “Hello everybody! If you come to this show I’ve probably already lost to Darci.” LOL.
Then, Tyra got right down to it. The act who finished in FIFTH place was Sara & Hero. With four acts left, they took us to commercial before two more could be sent home. Stay tuned for the top 3 (finally!). The act finishing in fourth place was shockingly Mandy Harvey. She was so grateful and humble and promised her journey wouldn’t stop here. We hope not!
The act that finished in third place was announced as Light Balance! “It was an unbelievable journey. We’d like to thank everyone who supported us. We love you, America!” the leader of the dance crew said.
It’s between Angelica Hale and Darci Lynne, both extremely talented, young girls. Both girls looked extremely anxious re-watching their amazing journey through AGT Season 12, especially Darci who was sobbing through her reel.
America has voted… the winner of America’s Got Talent season 12 is Darci Lynn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HollywoodLifers, are you happy Darci won?
