We honestly don’t want to believe this. Actor Anton Yelchin tragically died on June 19, a new report claims. The Star Trek and Alpha Dog star was killed after getting pinned against a brick mailbox by his own vehicle. He was only 27 years old.

Anton’s friends reportedly became worried when he never showed up for a preplanned rehearsal. According to TMZ, they ended up going to his San Fernando Valley home at approximately 1am and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox, which is attached to his security gate.

Police told TMZ the vehicle was still running, and in neutral, when they found Anton’s body. It appears the car may have rolled down the hill and pinned him against the brick mailbox, as the actor’s driveway is on a steep incline. At this time, it’s unclear why Anton got out of the car, TMZ notes, but cops do “not suspect foul play.”

Anton’s rep tells HollywoodLife.com, “Actor Anton Yelchin was killed in a fatal traffic collision early this morning. His family requests you respect their privacy at this time.”
