Wow. That’s the first word that comes to mind after watching Christina Grimmie slay Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” for her blind audition on season six of The Voice. You can clearly see that she impressed the judges as well, because Shakira, Usher, and Adam Levine all turned their chairs around within seconds of hearing her gorgeous voice.

The performance was so exciting to watch that Usher couldn’t help but stand and cheer on Christina as she continued to sing. Although Blake Shelton held out for a bit, the moment he heard Christina belt out one amazing final note he was sold and his chair quickly turned around, too. By the time Christina’s performance ended, all four judges were facing her and ready to fight over having her on their team.

“People come out here and they sing and you never know what to expect. And then you turn around and you start to see how engaging and passionate and… you’re more comfortable than I am up there, almost,” Adam gushed, clearly impressed by Christina’s audition. “That is the moment that you realize this person could be a huge star. I really believe that.”

“This was about your voice, you were phenomenal,” Usher exclaimed, slamming his hands down on his chair in excitement. “I love you, Usher,” Christina said back as she giggled.

But, it was when Adam asked Christina what inspires her the most that she reached through the screen and touched people’s hearts. “My mom. She’s had breast cancer three times and I thought she wouldn’t get to see me do anything like this,” Christina said as her mom watched from backstage in tears. “I love my mom, and I’m happy I got to do this for her.” So beautiful.

It took Christina a minute to choose, but eventually she decided on joining Adam’s team. For those of you who didn’t watch season six, Christina made it all the way to the finals of season six and eventually finished in third place. Incredible!
