Meghan took baby steps into her new look, showing off just-below-the-shoulder length hair about a week before she went even shorter and darker. Lorien Meillon of celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves’ salon was behind both Meghan’s new cut and color.

Usually we get nervous when a celeb changes up their signature look so drastically, but we actually prefer this look on Meghan. The lob cut is right on trend and the reddish brown shade looks great with her fair complexion.

Meghan also spoke to Seventeen about her new look, saying: “I love my long, blonde hair, [but] for album two, [my] label wanted to do something crazy different. So my hairstylist said, ‘We’re gonna cut it. And we’re gonna dye it.’ I cried, and now I love it. I just have to get used to it. For 14 years I was blonde. I haven’t [had brown hair] since I was three years old.”
