Former Fugees rapper Wyclef Jean is out of the hospital, where he was being treated after a bullet reportedly grazed his hand in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 19. “Fortunately, Wyclef is fine, undeterred by the incident and looking forward to his return home to finish his forthcoming album,” spokesman Derek Johnson said in a statement.

More than $57 million was raised, according to telethon organizers, and that number just continues to climb as even more donations are pouring in. Up in the Air star George Clooney will be hosting a telethon for MTV called Hope For Haiti Jan. 22 that will air for two hours. The telethon will begin at 8pm EST and air on all of MTV’s channels, along with ABC, NBC, CNN, HBO, E!, CW, Style Network, and the National Geographic Channel. Clooney has reportedly sought out several A-listers like Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. Sting and his wife Trudie Styler are among those confirmed to appear on the global program. All of the donations will go to Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation. Rapper-producer Wyclef Jean was devastated by the 7.0 earthquake that befell Haiti and especially so its capital Port-au-Prince on Tuesday Jan. 12, and he’s appealing to everyone and anyone to help his homeland as it struggles to recover. Here’s the statement he issued last night:
“Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.
