We’re about to lose some of the funniest moments on ‘American Idol’ now that they’ve dropped the top 24 from the line up! Are you outraged?
This is crazy! Some major changes are about to take place on American Idol, and I don’t like it one bit! First, they lose Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell as the judges, and now the hit show has dropped the top 24 contestants round and will cut directly to the final 12! Are the producers trying to lose their fans as well?
Forget what you’ve heard! Randy isn’t going to be the one calling the shots on the judges’ panel — Nigel Lythgoe tells HollywoodLife.com that honor is reserved for pop star Jennifer Lopez!

American Idol might have jumped the shark! New reports say J. Lo, Steven and Randy have never even been in the same room together!
It’s been an ongoing debate as to whether American Idol’s executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, made the right decision by doing a little “spring cleaning” with the show’s judges — and now TMZ is reporting that Nigel never tested out the chemistry between Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson before deciding to make them the new face of Idol! Back when Nigel hired Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy, the three went out to dinners and Simon and Randy even reportedly went to strip clubs to get to know each other! This new trio hasn’t even tried to bond like the original.
When HollywoodLife.com asked So You Think You Can Dance creator and head judge Nigel Lythgoe about his seemingly offensive comment, he told us he was referring to a style of dance…not Billy’s questionable sexuality. Do you buy it?
Due to last week’s groundbreaking decision to keep all of the top six dancers on So You Think You Can Dance, we had to bid farewell to TWO dancers this week—contemporary dancer Billy Bell and b-boy Jose Ruiz.

We FINALLY eliminated Melinda — now it’s time for some real competition!
I’m so relieved that America and the judges finally came to their senses and chose to eliminate Melinda Sullivan this week. I really did admire the tap dancer’s determination to live up to new challenges, but I couldn’t connect with her at all –- and apparently, neither did most of America, seeing that she was in the bottom 3 every week!
Aren’t you glad she’s gone? CLICK HERE!
What the heck? Cristina Santana is a fabulous salsa dancer –- and Melinda Sullivan just leaves me cold!
Cristina Santana started off as my least favorite dancer on So You Think You Can Dance this that she was sent home this week – especially when Melinda Sullivan so should have been sent packing in her place! Sure, I admired the 22-year-old tap dancer’s enthusiastic June 24 solo performance, as well as her lovely “Mother Earth” dance with all-star Ade Obayomi on Wednesday night, but I just couldn’t seem to connect with her.
Someone had to go — and Alexie definitely deserved to be the first eliminated contestant from So You Think You Can Dance this season!
There were group hugs, silly dancing and lots of tears on So You Think You Can Dance’s first elimination show of the season when jazz dancer Alexie Agdeppa got the boot — but honestly, she deserved to go!
Despite the critiques the 26-year-old jazz dancer received from the judges, I was unimpressed by her hip-hop performance with Twitch. That said, it was sad to see her go, especially after finding out how many times she had tried out for the show (FOUR in total), and she WAS truly adorable, but as judge Mia Michaels said, “cute” can only get you so far!
