Next season’s judging panel for American Idol may be up in the air, with Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi out, rumored to be replaced by names including Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Jessica Simpson, but last season’s contestants feel like the show will go on no matter what! Former contestant Lee DeWyze told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, “I don’t think anyone is going to ruin the show, the show is going to be successful as long as people are doing there own thing and not trying to copy anyone else, they’ll be fine.” And everyone else seems to agree!
If we were married to gorgeous Josh Duhamel, we’re pretty sure that baby-making would be high on our agenda, but his wife of 18 months, Fergie, doesn’t plan to be a mom anytime soon.

Blake Lewis has weighed in with his expert American Idol opinion on HollywoodLife.com all season long, and now that it’s over, our own personal Idol judge confides that’s although he’s upset his favorite contestants didn’t win, overall he’s pleased by this season’s outcome!
“My favorite people didn’t win, but they did a good job. I picked Michael Lynche and Didi Benami and Crystal Bowersox for my top three and one of them made it to the finals, so I’m happy” the 28-year-old season six runner-up told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at KIIS FM’s Idol viewing party May 27 in LA.

The hot topic of conversation in between commercial breaks during American Idol May 25 was, naturally, the finale’s special guest performers. One name in particular kept coming up — none other than Justin Bieber!
Idol’s warm-up guy, Cory, outed fourth place contestant Michael Lynche’s obsession with the 16-year-old tween singer, announcing to the entire 7,000+ person audience, “Sorry Mike, I know how excited you get by Bieber, but he won’t be here tomorrow night.”

You called it, America! You’ve long predicted a Crystal Bowersox/Lee DeWyze showdown in the season finale, and last night you were proved right when sexy Casey James got the boot. But these two BFFs — who seemed genuinely stoked that they’d be facing off against one another — ever dislike the other?

‘Big’ Michael Lynche was NOT saved for a second time this season, and was voted off American Idol May 12. Needless to say, the 26-year-old Floridian is NOT happy with the results!
“It was not surprised and not expected,” Mike said of his elimination during a conference call May 13, while his newborn baby girl cried in the background. “America is a fickle creature and she’s shown that as the competition has gone on. You just never know. I think that I was consistent every week and always gave my heart when I sang.”

Hasta la vista, Big Mikey! I seriously thought Casey James was about to be given the boot on American Idol May 12, but thankfully America voted wisely, and the good-lookin’ Texan in still in the competition! But aside from my glee at Casey’s save, elimination night was otherwise a little sleepy for me, dawg.

Oh, Lee DeWyze, WHY did you choose to pick a song as big as Seal’s power ballad, “Kiss From a Rose?” Our American Idol judge, Blake Lewis, can’t figure it out!
“I wasn’t a fan,” the 28-year-old season six runner-up tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “[Lee] started out really weak, and the song moves around too much vocally for his range. The song was too big for him.” But don’t worry, Lee fans — Blake still thinks he’ll be back next week. “No doubt he will still be here tonight because Americans have an affinity for that scratchy rock guy sound,” he says.

There were some chuckles (OK, a lot of them) when Casey James picked Simon & Garfunkle’s “Mrs. Robinson” as his song of choice during movie week. And although he’s been the obvious object of 39-year-old judge Kara DioGuardi’s affection since day 1, the sexy 27-year-old swears his selection wasn’t a sly bid to woo his older fans – including Kara. Every single year, without fail, some silly singer thinks they can take on Celine Dion or Mariah Carey. Well guess what kids? You can’t (unless you’re Adam Lambert, of course). So please, stop picking songs from female vocalists that have dog-whistle voice ranges. My heart will NOT go on if choose Celine’s power ballad. In fact, I’ll stop voting for you! Read more
Never, ever would I have thought that I would be hanging out with the four remaining Idol hopefuls, let alone be joking around and becoming pals with them! But today stars aligned in my favor, and I got to hang with Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox, Big Mike Lynche and Casey James at the American Idol Studio in LA. Sweet! Betters are predicting a Lee/Crystal finale, and I can see why: the guy is utterly devoid of ego, but so cool and collected. When he talked about his future as a winner, it sounded like he really BELIEVED (finally!) good things will happen. Read more
Lee DeWyze received heaps of praise for his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” , but Blake Lewis doesn’t think he deserved it! In fact, our very own American Idol judge was BORED!
“The lowlight for me was closing the night with Lee DeWyze,” the season six runner-up tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He got lots of praise from the judges, which I thought was crazy! He sang all right, but still doesn’t even look like he cares about having a singing career on stage. He looks so bored.”

It was Frank Sinatra week on American Idol May 4, and I was positive every last contestant was going to suck. Imagine my (pleasant) surprise when the singer I love to rag on the most, Lee DeWyze, gave a performance that would have made Ol’ Blue Eyes proud. His rendition of Frankie’s “That’s Life” was so good (dare I say it)that I think Lee has a real shot of winning the whole competition! Watch Lee perform & VOTE!
I was shocked that Siobhan Magnus was sent packing from American Idol April 28 for her rendition of Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine” — but I wasn’t half as dismayed as the judges’ golden boy Lee DeWyze. The dude was so unhappy that he looked like he was going to cry…but what else is new? Get the behind-the-scenes scoop on Lee & Siobhan HERE!
