Season nine winner Lee gets by with a little help — and a lot of advice — from his Idol friends. But what have they told him?
Lee DeWyze was humbled and awed to find himself in the presence of so many former American Idol winners during his finale party May 26, so much so that he’s raving about the night two days later! But who impressed the season 9 winner the most?
We told you that Lee, 24, cozied up to season 4 winner Carrie Underwood at the bash, held at the Mondrian Hotel’s Skybar in LA, and we were right! “I saw Carrie a little bit at the Idol party and she was so supportive!” the Mt. Prospect, Ill. native enthused during a May 28 conference call. “She said, ‘Anything you need, let me know.’ She was awesome.”
Apparently we have a lot in common with Crystal — we love the season 9 American Idol winner too!
Moments before we learned who our new American Idol was, the cool, calm and collected Crystal Bowersox made sure that fellow top two contestant Lee DeWyze knew that, win or lose, she loved him.
“You seemed calm and what I saw when they were counting down to going live, you were counting along and I saw you say ‘I love you’ to Lee right before the cameras went back,” Ellen DeGeneres said to Crystal on the May 28 episode of her talk show. She then commented to Lee, 24, “You were in your own world, I don’t think you even heard it.”Read more

“Drama was my very first love before music when I was young, and I’m open to doing something like that, yeah!” the 24-year-old Elliston, Ohio native told HollywoodLife.com exclusively during an Idol conference call May 28 when we told her that director Adam Shankman wanted she and winner Lee DeWyze to audition for the Rock of Ages movie.

Crystal was dumped by her long-term BF, Tony, the day before American Idol’s season finale — but she seems to be moving on just fine!
Was Crystal Bowersox crying into her drink after losing both her boyfriend, Tony Kusian, and the Idol crown all in two days? No, she was not. In fact, she seemed downright happy at the uber-exclusive post-finale Idol party, where she was caught celebrating with none other than second runner-up Casey James!
An insider at the bash, held at the Mondrian Hotel’s swanky Skybar in LA, caught Crystal, 24, kicking back with her dad, some friends AND the sexy rocker — whom she once confided to have a crush on. Hmmmm…..
Oh, no! We don’t know what’s worse — the heartbreak of losing the American Idol crown or losing the man you love!
The show must go on! Crystal Bowersox’s performance of ‘Up to the Mountain’ was so emotional and heartfelt May 25, we assumed she was just living in the moment. But perhaps the song had so much meaning to the dreadlocked singer because she was in the process of going through a major breakup!
“Big Tony… he went home,” Crystal, 24, said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show May 27, the day after placing second to Lee DeWyze on the American Idol, referring to now ex-boyfriend, Tony Kusian.
