There are hair makeovers and then there are total transformations like Meghan Trainor’s latest look. The singer traded in her long blonde locks for a shoulder-length lob that she dyed brown! Get the details on her big switch up.
Meghan Trainor, 22, has a new album in the works and she’s got a new look to go with it. Sharing a pic to her Instagram on February 11, Meghan revealed that her signature blonde locks are no more. The “All About That Bass” singer showed off a trendy lob cut that was a reddish brunette shade.
Meghan took baby steps into her new look, showing off just-below-the-shoulder length hair about a week before she went even shorter and darker. Lorien Meillon of celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves’ salon was behind both Meghan’s new cut and color.
Usually we get nervous when a celeb changes up their signature look so drastically, but we actually prefer this look on Meghan. The lob cut is right on trend and the reddish brown shade looks great with her fair complexion.

Meghan also spoke to Seventeen about her new look, saying: “I love my long, blonde hair, [but] for album two, [my] label wanted to do something crazy different. So my hairstylist said, ‘We’re gonna cut it. And we’re gonna dye it.’ I cried, and now I love it. I just have to get used to it. For 14 years I was blonde. I haven’t [had brown hair] since I was three years old.”
