“To cope with the stress of everything, Zayn has taken to transcendental meditation,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It’s really helped him while he’s away in the south of France relax. He locks himself away in his bedroom and shuts off from the world. “With all the pressures he’s under, it’s really good for his mindset. It’s helped Zayn focus on where he’s at and what he has to do next.”

The source also revealed that it’s a new technique for Zayn in combating the pressures of fame as he attempts embark on his own solo career.

“He was never a spiritual person before, but this has really opened his eyes, and he’s become enlightened because of it,” our source continued. “He will definitely benefit from this practice when he starts his solo career — and it hopefully will mean he won’t feel the same pressures as before.”

Zayn Malik: Preparing For Life After One Direction

As we previously reported, Zayn has been working with Naughty Boy in producing new material with a more R&B edge. One leaked song, “I Won’t Mind,” has been panned by his fans on Twitter. It was actually an unused song on One Direction’s fourth album, but Naughty Boy released the song on Twitter.

The former boyband singer has also been channeling Drake for his new sound — as he attempts to make it on his own.
