A new tell-all claims One Direction’s management set Harry up with Taylor to bring more attention to 1D! Do you believe it?

Harry Styles‘ tumultuous relationship with Taylor Swift may have spawned a hit single — HollywoodLife.com confirmed the One Direction singer is the inspiration behind Taylor’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” — but is it possible the whole thing was built on a lie? A new Harry biography by Louisa Jepson suggests the 1D team “went to great lengths to put the two together because she’s such a huge star.”

“Anytime Taylor starts dating a new guy she gets a flurry of media attention, and her break-ups receive even more,” Jepson adds — as if that’s somehow new information.

But you have to wonder: If Harry and Taylor’s entire relationship was a sham, does that mean their highly publicized breakup was also completely fabricated?

If Harry and Taylor’s split really was fake, Taylor has certainly done a good job seeming like she hates the 1D front man. During her performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” on Feb. 10 at the Grammy Awards, Taylor deliberately faked a British accent during the break in the song — a clear message to her chart-topping ex.

The (potentially fake) drama continued Feb. 20 at the BRIT Awards, when Taylor reportedly “refused” to look at Harry the entire time. Talk about immature!

So, basically Taylor has no respect for herself and is sort of a prostitute who bought her way into dating someone? I don’t love her but she’s not that desperate. She was clearly smitten with Harry and seems to have struggled after breaking up. Louisa Jepsen should probably find another source of inspiration and stay off Tumblr.

Dan, yes as a matter if fact 1D has sold out multiple arenas, including MSG in under a minute. In addition,they’ve gone multiple platinum in multiple countries. Both of 1D’s albums have set record sales and presales in over 30 countries. I would dare to say they are bigger stars than Taylor. As to why, she’s trying to break into pop and what better way than to date one of the most sought after men in pop right now. It was completely fake. And not the first ever fake relationship for her either, sorry to burst your bubble, but it happens all the time.

lol she’s not a great actress she’s decent (infinitely better than Harry) but its not hard to be pictured holding hands with someone and hanging out at a zoo. It’s not like there’s a sex tape or really proper video of them interacting (other than that of so brief and oh so staged NYE kiss).

Sydney, Everyone who has ever met Taylor has said she’s one of the nicest, most down to earth people you’d ever wantcto meet. Dooby, I know Taylor is going on a world tour and sells out stadiums. Has one direction done that? If so, that’s very impressive indeed.
It isn’t the press who have put out the story about their relationship being fake, it’s a woman who wrote a book. I’ve read what she supposedly has said in her book. But so often books about celebrities have blatant lies, just to sell the book. So I guess we wait and see.

I find it hard to believe that Harry’s management people would come up with such a foolish idea. Something like that would obviously leak out eventually. Taylor and Harry have been so careful not to say what went wrong between them. But if all this is hurting their reputations, I think they might talk and find a way to at least give people some idea what went wrong. Not to feed fan curiosity, but to put an end to all the bad stories and speculation. I think it’s hurting both of them at this point.

but it was no doubt planned and planted by their respective management. that’s how the industry works babe, taylors whole game is writing songs and then finding famous soon to be exs to attach to them, the hype for her albums is built around speculation over who songs are about and Harry’s management is very concerned that he maintains a certain available and very hetero appearance. If taylor was smart they would not do a harry song on the next album because she already looks catty and immature, and if more people knew it was fake, as people are coming to, it would look catty, immature and desperate.

Taylor would never need the publicity. And if she wanted publicity, she certainly wouldn’t have started dating a boy bander younger than herself! One Direction fans may know Harry, most other people don’t. So if Taylor was to stop to that level–which she never would– she wouldn’t chose Harry.

From what I understand about this woman’s book, she claims Harry’s management wanted him to get together with Taylor, for the PR. They knew Taylor like him last spring, but supposedly Harry cheated on her. So then later in the year, Taylor was asked to play on the XFactor and Harry just “happened” to be there and started showering her with attention. And then Mario Lopez announced it to the press.

Terrible to think Harry would do this. But Taylor would never do such a thing, she’s got nothing but grief for dating this younger guy. I guess we wait and see.

@Dan12: this book seems to be filled with rumours, and rehash of what people know. I woudn’t put too much stock in it. Of course, like I said, some people want to believe it because they have believed in those rumours all along (for whatever reasons).

I have always thought that 2 popstars in their position might not really need the PR… 1D was on the rise without any help from Taylor before that, and Taylor has been really famous in the US for a while. But if they went for a PR arranged date, they both knew it for sure. Taylor and Harry would not seem very genuine which is why I don’t see why fans would like that option, but whatever.

While I don’t think that the public knows what went on between them and why they broke up, I see that loads of people have made up their minds and think that they know… Their story of course looks good for their own idol, it’s normal I guess. I just wish people would realize how the press is playing us and stop believing everythin they read.

Who knows if this was all fake… I know a large number of fans have wanted to believe that because they could not deal with Harry liking Taylor.

Thing is I have never thought that they had a relationship back in April though (people seem to be convinced they had a thing and he cheated… BS IMHO), they might have met and been in contact, but 1D didn’t stay nearly long enough in the US for anything further than a 1 night stand IMHO -and I am not saying that’s what happened, I am just saying there was no previous relationship before November IMO.

I always took Harry’s public awkwardness with Taylor to have to do with the fact that he usually doesn’t flaunt his relationships. He seems to try keep them private actually…

I don’t think either of them needed any further media push previously, but I can see a lot more about Taylor Swift in the english online press ever since she has had a thing with Harry. No idea if the same thing happened with 1D and Harry in the States… So while during the relationship itself, the fan reaction was a real catastrophy, I can see some good PR outcome…

But I really hope for Taylor that it’s untrue! Being bitter about a real breakup is one thing -she didn’t deal with it well, but it would be genuine at the very least-, but pulling the Grammy thing if the whole thing was fake would be truly pathetic.

I LOVE Taylor. She’s the best thing ever. And I love Harry too, but that just seemed too fake for me :) She’s angry because he’s a terrible actor. He even admited it when they were on I Carly. He was in a interveiw and he said “I’m a horrible actor” and the interviewer said “Prove it” and Harry responded “Did You Watch I Carly?” But that’s alright. Can we all go back to our amazing lives??

For one, you’re clearly 12 if you think from the 3 week ‘relationship’ they had they would realistically be in love, you’re crazy. They never dated last year. They just needed to help Taylor get IKYWT up there, and them dating ‘again’ after claiming it was about him would make people buy it. IT’S NOT EVEN ABOUT HIM. People don’t fall in love seriously that fast. Not to mention if she ever LOVED him and it wasn’t all fake. She wouldn’t be going out of her way publicly calling him out.
