Amid growing tensions in Ukraine, Russia began an invasion on its neighboring country on February 24, 2022. The Russian army attacked Ukraine at the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and sent the country and its capital city of Kyiv into crisis. Many Ukrainians stood up to defend their country in light of the attacks, and people all over the world spoke out against the attacks from Russia, and many different nations responded with even further sanctions on Russia than had been placed as the situation escalated.

Following the attacks, tons of people spoke out against the aggressive assault from Russia and Putin, including everyone from elected officials to celebrities to everyday people. Tons of stars and politicians used their platform to condemn the attacks, and people gathered in protest of Putin’s attacks on the independent nation.

Yemen has been pushed the brink of famine as a result of the prolonged war between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed government forces since March 2015, leaving 80 percent of the country’s 30 million-population in dire need of food assistance, including over 4.2 million displaced people.
