New York, New York! Safaree Samuels, born Safaree Lloyd Samuels in New York City, has repped Brooklyn since birth, and continues to do so to this day. After finding initial success with the group Hoodstars (featuring LouStar, Seven Up, and Safarree’s future ex, Nicki Minaj), Nicki and Safaree broke off to find their own fortune and fame. With Safaree as her hype man, Nicki’s career blew up, and he co-wrote the single “Did It On’em” for her debut album, ‘Pink Friday.’ He also wrote six tracks on ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ but their relationship – personal and professional – would end in 2014. After the two split, Safaree continued to release mixtapes and pursue his solo career. In 2016, he joined the cast of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,’ but he wasn’t meant to live on the West Coast. He moved back to New York City in 2017, and subsequently joined ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York.’ It was around that time he DID find true love. Safaree proposed to Erica mena on Christmas Eve in 2018, and she said yes!
