Every Star Wars TV Show In Order: From 'Ewoks' in the '80s to 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'
Disney+

Check out all the ‘Star Wars’ TV shows, from ‘Ewoks’ in the 80s to the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Since 1977, Star Wars has captivated the minds of sci-fi fans everywhere, spawning a series of films, books and video games. And while the series was a hit on the big screen and beyond, it took time for Star Wars to hit its stride when it came to TV.

The ’80s enjoyed campy cartoon spin-offs and in 2008 Cartoon Network’s ‘The Clone Wars’ started to set its own standard. Star Wars TV wouldn’t go live-action until 2019, however, with the blockbuster release of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. The Book Of Boba Fett followed in December of 2021 and on May 27, 2022, the legendary Obi-Wan Kenobi, as played by Ewan McGregor, would get his own Disney+ series.

The first Star Wars series came in 1985, hoping to curb fan cravings after the release of Return Of The Jedi in 1983. Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO (seen here) followed the android odd couple through their antics between the then-yet-to-be-made prequel Revenge Of The Sith and the first movie A New Hope.

‘Ewoks’ was the sister series to ‘Droids’, following the cuddly crusade of the cute creatures from the forests of Endor.

Released in Sep. 1985,  ‘Ewoks’ followed curious Ewok Wicket W. Warrick and friends during the events after the TV movies ‘Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure ‘(1984) and its sequel ‘Ewoks: The Battle for Endor’ (1985). It aired for 26 episodes on ABC. According to TV critic David Perlmutter the show was “unremarkable both technically and creatively”.
