It looks like Constance Wu is a mom! The 38-year-old actress gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, with musician boyfriend Ryan Kattner over the summer, according to E! News. “They are doing great, and they’re so excited and happy,” a source told the outlet about the couple’s feelings on their new addition.
The exciting news comes as quite the surprise since the Crazy Rich Asians star never publicly revealed she was pregnant. She’s been out of the spotlight since the coronavirus pandemic started making waves in Mar. and was last seen on the red carpet of the Queerties 2020 Awards Reception and the 22nd Costume Designers Guild Awards in Feb. She’s also been inactive on Twitter since Dec. 2019 and hasn’t posted anything on Instagram since May, calling both accounts “defunct.”
Constance’s next public appearance may happen next month since her film, I Was a Simple Man, is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. There’s no word yet on whether or not the dark-haired beauty will be on the red carpet of the event but if she does, it will most likely be the first public appearance since she reportedly became a mom!
Like Constance, her beau Ryan also seems to be private when it comes to his personal life. He currently fronts the rock band Man Man and uses the stage name Honus Honus. His latest music release was in May when the group released Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In-Between, their first album in seven years. In addition to fronting the group, he works as a solo musician and released his first solo album, Use Your Delusion, in 2016.
Before Constance welcomed her bundle of joy with Ryan, she was busy with her own career just like he was. She finished her time playing the role of Jessica Huang on the popular ABC comedy Fresh Off the Boat after the show was cancelled in its sixth season. The finale aired in Feb.
Congratulations to Constance and Ryan on their new tot!
