Willow Smith, 20, is usually private about her love life but she gave viewers a rare glimpse into some heartbreak she suffered on the Dec. 15 episode of Red Table Talk. The singer was joined by her co-hosts, mom Jada Pinkett Smith, 49, and grandmother Adrienne Banfield Norris, as well as Jada and Will Smith‘s relationship counselor, Michaela Boehm, to discuss the difficulties of love with the topic “how to heal a broken heart.” Although she didn’t go into specifics, she did open up about some struggles she went through this year, which included having to “set boundaries.”
“I’ve had some personal decisions I needed to make this year that were really hard,” revealed Willow explained when asked about her most recent heartbreak. “I learned how to set some boundaries in my romantic relationship/ships and I’m so grateful that my partner was just open to what I had to say.”
Willow’s partner was not named, but Jada applauded her daughter for her honesty and revealed she thinks the couple “did a good job working it out together.” Willow also thanked Michaela for helping them both out “a lot” and Michaela responded by joking that she had “daughter envy” and wished she had a daughter like Willow because of how well she handled the situation.
Willow’s partner was not identified, but the brunette beauty‘s recently been romantically linked to musician Tyler Cole, 22, who was called “a close family friend” on an Oct. episode of Red Table Talk, which he appeared on to discuss voting and Black America. He was also seen vacationing with the Smith family last year and works closely with her on her music. The duo even released a collaborative album called The Anxiety this year.
