Gwyneth Paltrow, 47, and Kate Hudson, 40, are BFF goals! The lifestyle guru invited Kate over to film the debut episode of her “Goop Your Bar Cart” series and we could not get enough of their hilarious morning date. “This is the first time I’ve had vodka this early,” Kate exclaimed shortly before her big brother Oliver Hudson, 43, crashed the party. For their mixology debut, the goop founder and King St. Vodka CEO debuted two tasty drinks: a classic dry martini with marinated olives and artichokes — Kate’s fave — along with a holiday-ready cocoa espresso version.
“Nothing like some warm nuts to really make the holiday time,” Gwyneth joked in a southern accent as she popped a tray of chestnuts into an oven (bar snacks, anyone?). “I love nuts!” the Almost Famous star hilariously responded back, and we were laughing right along with them! The duo have been friends for years, and their close bond was on full display during the fun video. “I just wanna say that I’ve watched Gwyneth cook for years, and she’s quite the cook,” Kate sweetly complimented Gwyneth, who is the author of several cookbooks including 2011’s My Father’s Daughter and 2019’s The Clean Plate.
The ladies used Kate’s recently launched King St. Vodka for the cocktails, which was born out of Kate’s passion for — well — enjoying a dirty martini or two. “There’s not a lot of women in the vodka in the spirits industry,” Kate revealed in the video, adding she learned plenty along the way. “It’s all about the purest form of ethanol and then the water that you use,” the Fabletics founder explained, adding that her version is gluten-free, and distilled seven-times in Santa Barbara, California. The mom-of-three has been spotted enjoying her go-to cocktail on social media in the past, including a pic from friend Jennifer Aniston‘s 50th birthday bash alongside Gwyneth!
Gwyneth also imparted some words of wisdom from her mother Blythe Danner, 76, about responsible drinking: “As my mom says, ‘you have to eat a blotter,’ which means you have to have something in your stomach before you have the alcohol.” Her solution? Healthy bar snacks! Kate and Oliver — who are both kids of the legendary Goldie Hawn, 74 — also spilled some tea about their recent Thanksgiving antics! “I’ll tell you what was not responsible drinking: us at Thanksgiving,” Kate revealed. “We had some interesting late night, around the kitchen island stuff where she had to apologize the next morning,” Olivier further explained. “It was on another level, we were like, ‘what else, Kate?'” her Sibling Revelry co-host hilariously added.
