Right away, we found Sybil and Damon hanging out with Seline and the twins that she had kidnapped. We also found out why she took them: to give them to Cade, in exchange for the freedom of her and her sister.

Damon was down with it, of course, but wasn’t about beating around the bush, and had a plan of his own, as did Sybil. So, they invited Stefan there — Stefan only to come and kill again to prove he could go dark. Stefan was willing to do anything to get Caroline her twins back. So, he went, and lied to Caroline about where they were.

Granted, Caroline had completely turned Stefan away when he wanted to go with them to search for the twins. She literally took off her ring, which obviously broke his heart, but as she told him, she couldn’t focus on anything but them. She also basically said she’d kill Damon to get her kids back. So when Caroline and Alaric found out that he was going off on his own to get them, they were not happy — so much so Alaric snapped on Caroline and said that he was going to take the twins away from all of this, and away from her.

So, Sybil’s plan and Stefan’s plan worked. Instead of Seline handing over the twins, Sybil handed over Stefan and Damon. Yes, Stefan surrendered his “immortal soul” to Cade, which mean he needed to take over the job Sybil was doing. He told Caroline that he had one day left, so he’d be spending it with her. “I gave Damon what he promised me… an eternity of misery,” he told her. Yikes.

Caroline wasn’t the only one still reeling: Alaric was not about to sit by and watch anymore while his family was in danger, and neither was Matt (oh yeah, Matt was there too, and apparently he’s now ready to start killing vampires). So together, they found Damon, shot him, beat him, and ultimately, Alaric stabbed him turning him blue.

(P.S., he’s not dead — he was in next week’s promo. P.P.S., you can’t really blame Alaric, right? I know, it’s hard to remember those whiskey drinking days, now.)

HollywoodLifers, do you think Stefan and Caroline can make it work through this?
