What devastating news. After seven long years, the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel has possibly come to an awful end after an FBI agent says a federal inmate has confessed to being present at the time she was allegedly murdered in 2009. He provided terrifying details about how the 17-year-old from Rochester, NY was kidnapped while on spring break in Myrtle Beach, SC, held captive, gang raped, shot to death after trying to escape, and then her body was thrown into an alligator pit to destroy any evidence! This has to be such a heartbreaking closure for her family and friends if it turns out to be true.
Brittanee was last seen alive on April 25, 2009, after she left a group of friends at their hotel and walked about a mile down a busy road to her own hotel, but she never made it there. The last trace of her was when her cell phone pinged about 50 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
Her disappearance has remained a total mystery until FBI Agent Gerrick Munoz gave a grizzly detailed account of what he believes happened to the teenager, which was contained in a federal court transcript that the The Post and Courier of Charleston got ahold of Aug. 26. The details could finally put and end to the mystery of what happened to Brittanee. The inmate, Taquan Brown, also implicated a father and son from McClellanville, SC, near where Brittanee’s last cell phone ping was traced.

Sadly, the high school junior wasn’t even supposed to be on the trip to Myrtle Beach, as her parents wouldn’t allow her to go there with her older friends. She got in a fight with her mom over it, and eventually told her she was going to spend spring break at a friend’s house in nearby Lake Ontario, but Brittany secretly headed off to SC instead. The news that Brittanee could have met such a terrifying and awful fate has to be absolutely excruciating for her family.
