Hillary Clinton: Shatters The Ultimate Ceiling — Why It’s So Great For You

When Hillary Clinton humbly and with determination accepted the nomination for President of the United States, she went where no women has gone before in 240 years and it could have enormously positive consequences for you.

Hillary Clinton is the first female nominee ever for President of the United States and if you elect her, she will have blasted through the highest glass ceiling in the land.

Think about that. And think about how it could affect your daily life, and your ability to make your own decisions about your body AND most importantly, how it could make your dreams happen.

If you deal Hillary Clinton in, you will be guaranteed to retain your right to make your own reproductive choices. She will name judges to the Supreme Court, including to the vacant post, which Senate Republicans, in an unprecedented move, have refused to allow to be filled.

On the other hand, if Donald Trump is elected, he has said that he is pro-life and would only permit abortion in cases of incest, rape and to save the life of the mother. At one point, he even went as far as to say that women who had abortions, should be punished.

Hillary Clinton — PICS!

He has also repeatedly said that Planned Parenthood, which provides privately-funded abortions, as well as major health care, birth control and sex education counseling to millions of women, should be defunded.

Want to earn equal pay for equal work? Hillary Clinton promises to fight to make sure that you get 100 cents for every dollar that men earn — not the current 79 cents. She will fight for paid family leave when you add a child to your family, for affordable healthcare for everyone, free college tuition for families earning $125,000 or less and debt-free college for all.

Plus, she will not repeal the 2nd amendment, she just doesn’t “want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.” She wants to work with responsible gun owners to pass common sense reforms, to help stop horrific shootings at colleges, night clubs, movie theaters, shopping malls and elementary schools.

All of these measures mean that you could earn more – getting the recognition you deserve – carry much less or no college debt, have an improved life for your family and feel safer in this country which has had 33,000 people killed by gun violence every year.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s one statement on gender pay equity is, “You’re gonna make the same if you do as good a job as a man,” and he wants to do away with gun-free zones, even in schools.

“The problem with gun-free zones is it’s like offering up candy to bad people,” he said in Colorado in May. “They hear gun-free zones and they go in there with their guns blazing.” Really. Guns in classrooms.

But, aside from the policies that could benefit you on a daily basis, just think about how having a female president in the White House could change the whole general climate for women. Right now only 22 women are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and women make up just 19.9% of their boards.

But, with a woman in the highest office in the land, I bet lots of companies big and small, are suddenly going to discover that they can find qualified women to fill the most senior and powerful seats in their companies.

Many of America’s 161 million women are going to feel much more empowered too, just by having Hillary in the White House.

Seeing her there makes dreams feel possible to many women and girls. Just read theses tweets.

Yes, this is like the moon landing for women. Remember, women only earned the right to vote in 1920, and it took us close to 100 years to have a woman now running for president.

So, whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent, savor this moment for a minute. It’s a huge milestone, that is good for your life and your future in many ways.

If Hillary is elected, just think about the opportunities that could still be opened up for you and the little girls coming behind you. HollywoodLifers, are you excited that America has its first female presidential nominee? Let me know.
